Kolber was born in Pennsylvania and earned her bachelor's degree at the University of Miami. She began her career as the video coordinator at CBS Sports in New York City. As a video coordinator at WTVJ-TV Miami and earning a Sports Emmy. She worked at WPLG-TV, Miami as well as WPEC-TV West Palm Beach. In 1993, she was selected for anchoring the first season of ESPN2's launch. She was employed at ESPN2 for the ensuing three years before leaving it to work for Fox Sports.
